About Dance Funktion

Kim MallowsDance Funktion has been formed by Kim Mallows to share her enthusiasm for all types of dance.

Kim grew up in Northamptonshire and spent her early years at Kilburn School of Dancing and performing with local operatic and pantomime societies.

She studied Performing Arts at Northampton College and was then awarded a part scholarship after auditioning, to train at the prestigious London Studio Centre for three years, specialising in Dance Musical Theatre.

Kim graduated in 2000 and went on to work professionally for eight years in a variety of shows and productions in the UK and abroad, including:

  • Babes and Arms, Westminster Theatre, London as the M.C.
  • UK Number 1 tour of the Mr Man show playing Mr Messy and Mr Tickle
  • A three month tour with M&M Productions, playing Princess Jasmine in Aladdin
  • Eight months overseas as a production dancer and vocalist for Openwide International, Thompson Gold in Malta.
  • Snow Queen, Castle Theatre, Wellingborough as the Devil
  • Dancer/captain for Tony Peers Productions' summer season in Scarborough.
  • Two summer seasons as dance captian/actress  for Qdos Entertainment touring productions
  • Dancer in Jim Davidson’s Dick Whittington, Hippodrome Theatre, Bristol
  • Snow White for Duggie Chapman Pantomime Productions, Thwaites Theatre, Blackburn
  • Fairy Blue Bell with Jim Davidson in the Qdos Production of Dick Whittington, Orchards Theatre, Dartford.

Kim has now returned home from performing and with an advanced CRB certificate enjoys teaching in local schools and gyms and choreographing for local productions, wedding dances and birthday parties.
